How your Donation Makes a Difference

Contributing even a small amount to the Volunteer Center of Bergen County will help us to help others Do Good and Feel Good through volunteering, or building capacity for volunteering, in our community.
Consider what a donation to the Volunteer Center will do:
$25 helps connect 5 (or more!) people with volunteer opportunities by printing and mailing 5 copies of the Guide to Volunteering to local libraries and schools.  The Guide provides information about thousands of volunteering opportunities in Bergen County.

$50 provides a parenting class for 4 low-income mothers who are overwhelmed with struggling to provide for their families and need help with parenting and life skills. Mentors in our Mentoring Moms program provide the support they need to take steps to a brighter future.

$100 will provide tools and supplies for our Chore Service vans.  Chore is a service in which crews of senior volunteer handypersons provide minor home repairs for the elderly and disabled - free of charge - helping to keep them safely living in their own homes.

$250
helps recruit and train a volunteer mentor for a child who has suffered from abuse and/or neglect.  Mentors in our Mentoring Youth program provide guidance and friendship to troubled children ages 3-18.

$500 - $1,000 will provide a partial scholarship for an aspiring leader with limited income to participate in Bergen Leads, a 10-month seminar which will prepare him/her for leadership in the future of Bergen County.
